Primary Faith Trainers

1st B Kid’s #1 core value is for Parents to be the primary faith trainers for their children. God has given you the unique job of discipling your children and given us the opportunity to come along side you and help. There is no exact formula to discipling your children but it won’t happen unless you intentionally make it happen. 1st B Kids offers you these steps and suggestions to help you be disciples who make disciples with your kids.

Step 1: Faith Talks

These are intentional times that are regularly on the calendar where you talk and learn about scripture with your children. For faith talks you can: go through a devotional book, read them a Bible story, memorize verses together, or work on Bible journaling are just a few of the things that can be done.

Step 2: Recognize God moments

as you spend time with your children give God credit as He shows up in the context of real life. Look for God to be working and teach your kids as it happens. It could be an answered prayer, the promise that God made with a rainbow, a beautiful sunset, and so much more.

Step 3: Celebrate Spiritual Growth

We all remember our favorite birthday party and our little league (or equivalent thereof) season ending team banquet. Why not do the same things with spiritual growth. If you know your kids spiritual birthday remember it with a special meal. Invite family and friends over when your child gets baptized, Take your son or daughter away for a weekend to remember before they enter middle school. Build these memories with your kids that they can draw back on.

Committing to be the primary faith trainers for your children will be one of the hardest commitments you will ever make.
