Kid Life

Kid Life is a ministry of 1st B Kids that assists in teaching and growing kids in God’s Word. We are in our 2nd year of Kid Life and I could not be more pleased with where things are headed. Last year the team was excited to witness the spiritual growth in kids’ lives while seeing an increase in family involvement. The goal of Kid Life is to support the family in the spiritual formation of their children. Our strategy is to provide resources to develop spiritual disciples at home while integrating our churches vision of developing relational communities at Kid Life.    

Kid Life is designed to give more options for kids to learn and grow in God’s word. Preschool children; Puggles (2.5 years old), and Cubbies(3-4 year olds), use a more recognizable  AWANA format and focus on memorizing verses and concepts from the Bible. The elementary kids; Kidzoo (K-1st grade) Safari (2-3rd grade), and Treehouse 45(4-5th grade) are mainly focused on kid small groups. Small groups are designed for kids to learn, experience, and apply God’s word to their lives in the context of relational community. Other areas of Kid Life include games, the store, and a time for elementary students to work on Journaling (2nd grade and up) or Awana verses.  Each department has their own themed based apparel that can be ordered along with all other material at the Kid Life office (2nd floor of children’s wing) or during pre- registration which is happening now.

I highly recommend that you and your kids (K-5th grade) work through either the AWANA handbooks, the SOAPY journaling program (2nd grade and up), or both at home. There will be time each Wednesday night for kids to advance through either curriculum but because the evening focus is on kid life groups kids will probably not be able to finish their Awana book or journal unless parents take advantage of their time at home. We believe this time will strengthen both the parents and child(ren)’s relationship with the Lord and each other.

Our team is excited to announce that this year we have eliminated the registration fee of $30/child. This is because of the structure of our new program and the new Wednesday night church service. (We will still be selling the supplies.) We are trusting God to provide what we need to cover the meals, extra supplies, and awards.

The Kid Life team is dedicated to the children and families of this church in any way necessary as we all follow after Jesus together.
